PLAY FOR LIFE WITH MICRO SCOOTERS

Have you heard of the concept of ‘Deliberate Play’? The idea is that when children are challenged and goal orientated during physical play, they will develop more confidence in their body and their ability to achieve. This confidence becomes a foundation for life, where children can also become more confident emotionally as they grow, and it certainly develops a more positive relationship with exercise on into adulthood.

The concept came to our attention via Play for Life, a campaign devised by Micro Scooters. The campaign guides parents on how to support healthy physical development based on a child’s readiness to move rather than age.

The Play for Life website includes some fun games for the family to enjoy together based on the stage of Micro Scooter product that the child is using with confidence. We’ve picked our favourite game for children who have emerged from the toddling stage and using the Micro 3-in-1 without the seat, or they are charging about on the Micro Balance Bike! At this age and stage of development, according to Micro Scooters, children are ready to hone their decision-making skills and spatial awareness. They are also ready to grow stronger physically, honing their muscles and core strength.
