A car seat is possibly the most important purchase you will buy for your newborn baby as it is the one thing that will keep them as safe as possible if you were to be involved in an accident. With that in mind, you of course want to make sure that your car seat is the best choice and in an industry with safety at the forefront of every new release, we love to see new additions into the market, especially from car seat safety pioneers; Maxi Cosi.

The latest release from Maxi Cosi, is the Rock, a car seat set to replace the long-standing Pebble and from what we know so far, this seat has had some improvements to keep our little ones more comfortable and safer than before.

Out of the box the Maxi Cosi Rock is pretty much good to go and is complete with the newborn insert and hood to keep your little one as snug as possible. As this car seat meets the latest iSize legislation, it should be installed into your car using the Maxi Cosi Familyfix base for the safest fit however if your car doesn’t have Isofix, it can also be installed using the seat belt too.

The Familyfix base is one of our favourite Isofix bases and has a very clever indicator system so you can see that your base and seat are fitted correctly. The digital display at the front of the base will turn green once all steps are complete and if a step has been missed, the display will flash red and beep to alert you that something is wrong.

Once installed in to your car, the Maxi Cosi Rock keeps your baby safe and protected right from day 1 and the seat feels really sturdy, especially when connected to the Isofix base. The insert inside the seat will keep your newborn cosy and the head rest is made from memory foam to keep them comfortable on every journey. As your baby grows, the inlay can be removed, and the seat should have enough space for your baby until they are approximately 12 months old.

Just like with most car seats, the Rock is compatible with a range of pushchairs which is great for short trips and once you’re ready to get back into the car, the Rock has handy memory buttons that allow you to life the seat off with both hands.
